Common Garter Snake

The common garter snake is just that, one of the most prevalent types of snakes across the entire United States. These snakes tend to come in shades of brown, black, olive, or beige.

With their colors matching much of the terrain, it can be difficult to identify the common garter snake and keep snakes away when they try to invade your home.

Although you do not have to worry about venom when it comes to garden snakes, they can still bite. Sometimes, the bite can cause allergic reactions in humans, such as itchy skin.

Albino Garter Snake

Like in many types of animals, there is also an albino variation of the garden snake. Rather than the usual darker shades, these snakes show variations of cream, peach, and white.

They also have pink eyes, a distinctive feature of albinism across the animal kingdom. Albino garter snakes are also extremely rare, so you may want to collect one if you ever see it in the wild.

Flame Garter Snake

If you live in Canada, you may find a flame garter snake in your area. These snakes are only present in a small part of southwestern Canada, so they are exceedingly rare and highly sought after by collectors.

The flame is a type of red morph garter snake that has variations of red, orange, and yellow, which create the appearance of a flame. They also have black spots and a white stripe running down their bodies.

Blue Morph Garter Snake

The blue morph garter snake has a unique coloring that will no doubt stand out if you encounter it. These types of snakes can be various shades of blue, from deep and electric blue to almost white.

These snakes are popular among collectors because of their hue. If you want to learn how to get rid of snakes and you have a blue morph garter, ask around to see if any collector in your area can take it off of your hands.
